Establishing timeless connections
After studying industrial design in Montreal, American designer Matthew Townsend (1992) pursued his passion for furniture design by moving to Florence, Italy. Aesthetics and functionality come together perfectly as Matthew constantly finds creative new ways to use materials in his designs. “Establishing a strong personal connection between user and the design is what makes a piece timeless” says Matthew, who believes that good design comes down to the user’s experience and perception of that piece. Matthew’s creative application of materials lies at the heart of the design of the Cobi coffee table collection – a unique range of customizable coffee tables that can stand alone, but also integrate perfectly with Manutti’s other collections.
